SkyBox Labs is a Canadian video game development studio founded in 2011 and based in Burnaby, British Columbia. The company was established by former members of EA Vancouver - Derek MacNeil (Development Director), Shyang Kong (Senior Producer), and Steven Silvester (Technical Director) - who had collaborated on sports franchises including FIFA, Need for Speed, NBA Live, and NHL. The studio is renowned for its work with Xbox Game Studios on major franchises including Halo, Minecraft, and Age of Empires. In January 2023, SkyBox Labs was acquired by NetEase Games and continues to operate as part of NetEase Games' portfolio.
