TLDR; There are better fighting games. If you plan to climb in ranked be prepared for VERY passive players. For free to play game though it’s a great game to try.

There isn’t anything forcing combat so players choose to wait for the other to make the first move. After 1k hours played I’d say it was fun, but if you are looking for something to deep dive into I’d choose a different fighting game. If you are looking for F2P games then you can’t do much better. The issue with this game however is that the devs thought it was a good idea to overcomplicate things for themselves. They essentially made it more difficult for them to balance by adding stats that don’t scale the same strength scaling way less then speed and defense. Also they have a stat called dexterity that influences your frame data both startup and recovery frames. So each patch they make a weapon or 2 shine compared to the rest in some kind of messed up ring around the rosie. They take things away from some weapons and leave them in for others (3 hit combo TRUE) We are talking constant changes between true combos and strings and stats that all scale differently. Do you want to play Bow and Katars. Well good luck with that 2 defense. You see, they would like you to believe the stats and weapon combos compliment each other or make up for each other, but it truly does not. If you like playing a slow fighting game and being passive then welcome. If you want to rush in and start the action your options are limited. It’s all about baiting your opponent which has made the game super stale for me.
