It’s a pretty good game, but extremely disappointing compared to the original. I don’t know why they didn’t just take the winning formula and make improvements, instead of changing virtually everything about the game except for its key elements. All they had to do is take DL1, add more moves and zombie variants, and put it in a new map and BAM! Another awesome 10/10 game. DL2 is the equivalent to a new Dark Souls title being a birds-eye view side scroller. It just doesn’t work to well.

Everything I was excited for in the game (minus the parkour) fell far short of expectations. I’ll name all of the downgrades I felt through two playthroughs: the physics, graphics, nighttime tension, combat, story, playable character, crafting, blueprints, scavenging, interiors, QUESTS, faction hubs, nighttime chase sequences, virals, map design on the first playable area, animations, zombie hordes, unique weapons, and skill upgrades.
