I like Dawnguard for the new vampire/werewolf mechanics and crossbows. And I think exploring the Soul Cairn and the new dungeons was fun. The quests were a bit of a chore and, while the lore is cool, the storytelling was pretty uninteresting, but that applies to the majority of Skyrim's questlines, at least in my opinion. Also, Serana is one of the most bland and cliche characters ever.

If you don’t use mods, then Hearthfire homes are indispensable IMO especially if you do any crafting (Alchemy, Enchanting, Smithing.) Hearthfire homes provide so many advantages such as a greenhouse, garden, and fish hatchery for alchemists. You can put an entire smithing room in the cellar (smelter, workbench, forge, grindstone). A library for your huge book collection or an armory to display weapons and armors you’ve collected. Not to mention all the storage options for your treasures (chests, barrels, safes, wardrobes, etc.)

If you do use mods, then you can get all of those things in mod player homes, so Hearthfire homes become unnecessary. But for vanilla Skyrim, I would never play without one.

I really like the Hearthfire houses more than the vanilla houses, cuz you can customize them and they feel much bigger than even Proudspire Manor in Solitude. And they look really cool.

Definitely should play the game.

Personally, I enjoyed it. Solstheim is an engaging, unique world to explore. The available quests are enjoyable and their rewards useful, particularly the Black Book abilities and powers ("Black Market," "Scholar's Insight," etc.) Some of the followers level up with the player, making them more useful endgame. Dragon-riding remains an afterthought, however.

There are some new spells and shouts which have varying usefulness. Stahlrim armor and weapons look fantastic and are on par with Dragon gear - Stahlrim light armor has ratings between Glass and Dragonscale; Stahlrim heavy armor is equivalent to Dragonplate (while weighing less.) Frost and Chaos enchantments are 25% more powerful on Stahlrim gear, which is additionally useful.

I would recommend all three DLCs, but Dragonborn provides the most bang for your buck.

I could play this more almost 1000 hours and never get bored with this with how much content and quests that one person can do.
